HUMANITAS, the Portuguese Federation for Mental Disability has recently published an information booklet with the purpose of promoting a reflection on the implications of the CRPD, in particular article 12 (“Equal recognition before the law”) on the current procedures related with full and partial guardianship.
In its preamble, it refers “the adoption of the Convention calls for a change (in culture and attitudes) required for the recognition of the capacity, dignity and human rights of the persons with disabilities (…).
