On May 5, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, the workshop “Advocating for the Right to Live Independently and to Be Included” took place at ISCSP, led by Milan Šveřepa, Director of Inclusion Europe.

During the session, Milan Šveřepa addressed the following key topics:
- Promoting the inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities and monitoring progress in the process of deinstitutionalisation.
- How persons with intellectual disabilities advocate for their rights and express their views in the development of European policies.
- The main areas that persons with intellectual disabilities and their families wish to see changed across Europe.
- Monitoring whether, and how, Europe is acting to eliminate the segregation of persons with intellectual disabilities.
The workshop was held in English, broadcast online, and was attended by approximately 40 participants.
Prior to the workshop, teams from the ODDH and from the Inclusion Europe met to discuss shared concerns and explore potential avenues for collaboration. The meeting aimed to strengthen the ties between the two organisations.
