The Disability and Human Rights Observatory (ODDH) is holding its IV Meeting on 13 December 2019 at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP), of the Universidade de Lisboa. This year is the 13th anniversary of the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the tenth anniversary of Portugal’s ratification (in 2009), which will lead us to reflect upon the achievements and remaining challenges to the full enjoyment of human rights by persons with disabilities in Portugal.
The report prepared by the ODDH “Persons iwht Disabilities in Portugal – Human Rights Indicators 2019” will be publically presented at this IV Meeting. The report systematises, based on secondary sources, the main statistics on disabilities in Portugal in following areas: Work and Employment, Education and Living Conditions and Social Protection. A round table has been organised to debate the main aspects of this report.
Addionally, the Seminar includes parallel sessions to visibilise the scientific workdone by researchers from the disability field.
Disability Studies in Portugal – Call for Papers – until 15 September 2019
In order to promote the study field of Disability Studies in Portugal, and to foster the exchange and availability of new knowledge on this emerging field in the nation scientific scene, ODDH invites researchers to submit abstracts – for oral communication or poster – until 15 September to oddh@iscsp.ulisboa.pt.
