At least 317 teachers with disabilities work in schools, especially women, according to a national study which also points to a lack of legislation that takes account of the specific needs of these people and imposes adaptations.
This study, to which Lusa gained access, was carried out by the Disability and Human Rights Observatory, in partnership with the National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof), revealed that in Portuguese schools there are at least 317 teachers with disabilities working, with ages between 22 and 63 years, especially women.
