As part of the research project on “reasonable adaptations in the workplace for people with disabilities or illnesses,” being conducted by the Disability and Human Rights Observatory (ODDH), in partnership with researcher Joana Neto from NOVA School of Law, the ODDH/ISCSP is inviting all individuals with some form of disability or impairment who are currently working or have previously worked in the public or private sector (including service providers and interns) to participate by completing an online questionnaire.
This questionnaire aims to gather information about the experiences of people with disabilities or illnesses in their workplaces, particularly regarding the provision of reasonable adaptations, defined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as “necessary and appropriate modifications and adjustments not imposing a disproportionate or undue burden (…) to ensure that persons with disabilities can enjoy or exercise all human rights and fundamental freedoms on an equal basis with others.” The objectives of this research project are to:
- Identify the level of knowledge among respondents with disabilities or chronic illnesses regarding their right to reasonable adaptations in the workplace;
- Understand how people with disabilities or chronic illnesses view the right to reasonable adaptations;
- Describe which reasonable adaptations measures are most needed by respondents and determine whether or not these were provided by organizations;
- Analyze the impact of the provision (or lack thereof) of reasonable adaptations in the workplace on the autonomy of workers with disabilities or chronic illnesses;
- Examine respondents’ perceptions of workplace harassment related to their professional experience and disability or chronic illness.
All collected information will be processed anonymously and confidentially.
We thank you in advance for your participation!
