The study “Monitoring the Rights of Persons with disabilities in Portugal” promoted by the Disability and Human Rights Observatory, coordinated by Paula Campos Pinto, was released at the e-newsletter of the Portuguese Social Security Institute, in June 2015.

This study – available here – involved the application of a holistic approach to monitoring the rights of persons with disabilities in Portugal, based on gathering information in three key areas:

a) individual experiences of people with disabilities;

b) systemic measures designed to protect and promote the rights of disabled people (laws, policies, programs);

c) social attitudes measures by the representations and media coverage of disability.
