The project “PRISMA – Persons with disabilities in Portugal: Prevalence, profiles and sociological portraits” began on 2 January 2026 and aims to carry out a prevalence study and sociodemographic characterisation of the adult population with disability and impairment in Portugal.
This study, promoted by the Observatory on Disability and Human Rights (ODDH) of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa), seeks to contribute to a better use of statistical information on disability, as well as to support processes of evaluation and political decision-making in this area.
The project will last 12 months and is co-financed by the Technical Assistance Programme 2030 (PAT2030-FEDER-03055000).
