Full inclusion requires information, changes in mindset, and a more consistent commitment from companies, public policies, and society, says Paula Campos Pinto, coordinator of the Observatory on Disability and Human Rights (ODDH) at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP) of the University of Lisbon.
Created in 2013 at ISCSP, the ODDH publishes an annual report analyzing the implementation of the rights of people with disabilities in Portugal. In its 9th edition, the document shows progress — such as an increase in the employment rate and growing access to higher education — but also highlights inequalities that stubbornly persist.
