ODDH organizes DRPI Training in Tunisia

It was held between April 26 and April 30, in Hammamet, Tunisia, a DRPI training (Disability Rights Promotion International) hosted by Márcia Rioux (York University, Canada), Paula Campos Pinto (Coordinator of Disability and Human Rights Observatory) and Teresa Pinto (ODDH researcher / Lisbon University).

The DRPI training – which aims to empower persons with disabilities and their organizations to participate in monitoring processes of their human rights – marked the starting point of the DECIDE project, that is being developed with the support of the Disability and Human Rights Observatory (ODDH). This project – which is going to be held between April 2015 and July 2016 – will analyze the welfare systems for persons with disabilities in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

The promoting entities of the project are: Handicap International, Collectif pour la Promotion des Droits des Personnes en Situation de Handicap au Maroc, Organisation Tunisienne de Défense des Droits des Personnes Handicapées and members of local organizations of persons with disabilities in Bejaia, Algeria.
