ACAPO | The provision of services and the promotion of independent living

Report Cover Report Cover

The policies of rehabilitation are evolving towards the promotion of the quality of life of the citizens with disabilities through the increase of their levels of autonomy (independent living) and the ability to represent himself/herself (self-representation / self -advocacy). The application of these 2 concepts has been influencing the policy priorities, the design, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and interventions.

In this context, this study aimed at a definition of a sustainable model for provision of services, customer-oriented focusing on the promotion of autonomy, independent living and quality of life.

This study has been promoted by ACAPO (Portuguese Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired).
