Third Disability MUNDUS - Summer Doctoral School (2014)

A summer Doctoral School - entitled "PERSPECTIVES IN DISABILITY STUDIES: The governance of disability (governing disability) - Took place between June 29 and July 2 2014 at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon.

The organizers of this initiative were Patrick Devlieger (KULeuven, Belgium), Megan Strickfaden (UAlberta, Canada) and Paula Campos Pinto (ISCSP / ULisboa, Portugal).

The Disability Studies are an emerging field that involves multiple knowledge, perspectives and methods. This summer doctoral program was intended to examine how we can study less obvious perspectives, explore methods that have been used little and consider a kind of knowledge, techne, which can be rediscovered and incorporated into research on disability.
